What it is

Sermorelin is a lab-made version of the first 29 amino acids of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It prompts the pituitary gland to release more of your own growth hormone.

What the research shows

Sermorelin was once FDA approved (as Geref) to diagnose and treat growth hormone deficiency in children. The brand was discontinued in 2008 for business reasons, not safety concerns. Today it's prepared by compounding pharmacies.

How it's used

Sermorelin is commonly supplied as a 6.0 mL vial at 1.5 mg/mL. A typical dose is 300 mcg (20 units), injected under the skin, at bedtime. Your prescriber sets your exact dose and schedule.
